Reducing samples for accelerating multikernel semiparametric support vector regression
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, the reducing samples strategy instead of classical m-support vector regression (m-SVR), viz. single kernel m-SVR, is utilized to select training samples for admissible functions so as to curtail the computational complexity. The proposed multikernel learning algorithm, namely reducing samples based multikernel semiparametric support vector regression (RS-MSSVR), has an advantage over the single kernel support vector regression (classical e-SVR) in regression accuracy. Meantime, in comparison with multikernel semiparametric support vector regression (MSSVR), the algorithm is also favorable for computational complexity with the comparable generalization performance. Finally, the efficacy and feasibility of RS-MSSVR are corroborated by experiments on the synthetic and real-world benchmark data sets. 2009 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

A novel adaptive kernel method with kernel centers determined by a support vector regression approach
The optimality of the kernel number and kernel centers plays a significant role in determining the approximation power of nearly all kernel methods. However, the process of choosing optimal kernels is always formulated as a global optimization task, which is hard to accomplish. Recently, an algorithm, namely improved recursive reduced least squares support vector regression (IRR-LSSVR), was pro...
متن کاملℓ p-Norm Multikernel Learning Approach for Stock Market Price Forecasting
Linear multiple kernel learning model has been used for predicting financial time series. However, ℓ(1)-norm multiple support vector regression is rarely observed to outperform trivial baselines in practical applications. To allow for robust kernel mixtures that generalize well, we adopt ℓ(p)-norm multiple kernel support vector regression (1 ≤ p < ∞) as a stock price prediction model. The optim...
متن کاملMODELING OF FLOW NUMBER OF ASPHALT MIXTURES USING A MULTI–KERNEL BASED SUPPORT VECTOR MACHINE APPROACH
Flow number of asphalt–aggregate mixtures as an explanatory factor has been proposed in order to assess the rutting potential of asphalt mixtures. This study proposes a multiple–kernel based support vector machine (MK–SVM) approach for modeling of flow number of asphalt mixtures. The MK–SVM approach consists of weighted least squares–support vector machine (WLS–SVM) integrating two kernel funct...
متن کاملLarge Scale Multikernel Relevance Vector Machine for Object Detection
The Relevance Vector Machine(RVM) is a widely accepted Bayesian model commonly used for regression and classification tasks. In this paper we propose a multikernel version of the RVM and present an alternative inference algorithm based on Fourier domain computation to solve this model for large scale problems, e.g. images. We then apply the proposed method to the object detection problem with p...
متن کاملDecomposition Algorithms for Training Large-Scale Semiparametric Support Vector Machines
We describe a method for solving large-scale semiparametric support vector machines (SVMs) for regression problems. Most of the approaches proposed to date for large-scale SVMs cannot accommodate the multiple equality constraints that appear in semiparametric problems. Our approach uses a decomposition framework, with a primal-dual algorithm to find an approximate saddle point for the min-max f...
